Hosts Zimbabwe pulled off an upset over South Africa by 29 runs in the 3rd match of the T20 Tri-Series at Harare.
Batting first after winning the toss, Zimbabwe posted an impressive total of 176 for 4 after a sound century opening stand. Hamilton Masakadza smashed 55 from 39 balls with 5 fours and a six while his opening partner Vusi Sibanda, collected 58 (from 50 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes). Skipper Brendan Taylor took their good work forward with his 39 (from 21 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes).
South Africa in their run chase were well set at 74 for 1 in the 9th over but the fall of Richard Levi (40 from 28 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes) changed the course of the game. South Africa had a stunning batting collapse losing its last eight wickets for just 73 runs. Colin Ingram, coming in at no.3 scored 48 (from 39 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes) but lacked the support from the rest of the middle and lower order batsmen.
Pacer Christopher Mpofu and leggie Graeme Cremer did the damage for the hosts taking three wickets each. Mpofu got the Man of the Match for his 3 for 20 in 4 overs.
