Having knocked out Royal Challengers Bangalore with a thoroughly professional effort in the Eliminator on Friday, Sunrisers Hyderabad would go in with the upper hand when they take on Delhi Capitals in the second Qualifier of IPL 2020 at Abu Dhabi on Sunday. SRH have been on a roll, winning five of their last six matches. Delhi, on the other hand, have been having a tough time. They lost four matches in a row, and only a victory against RCB in their last league encounter ensured them qualification for play-offs.

Delhi put up a completely insipid show in the first Qualifier against Mumbai. The pace bowling duo of Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje, who had been responsible for a number of their wins earlier in the tournament, came a cropper against Mumbai. They just could not get their dreaded yorkers right as the likes of Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya tore them apart. Ravichandran Ashwin was brilliant with the ball, but Shreyas Iyer committed a tactical mistake taking him out of the attack after he had dismissed Rohit Sharma.

If we talk about their batting, it was in complete shambles as they lost their first three wickets without a run on the board. Prithvi Shaw has been struggling big time of late while Ajinkya Rahane has played only one innings of note. Even Shikhar Dhawan, despite having scored over 500 runs in IPL 2020, has only managed 60 runs in his last five innings, including three ducks. Marcus Stoinis and Axar Patel have been doing reasonably well down the order, but DC need to find a way to get in Shimron Hetmyer especially considering Rishabh Pant’s struggles.

SRH would hope Wriddhiman Saha is fit for the knockout match since his presence gives David Warner the freedom to play his strokes. Kane Williamson and Jason Holder again proved their value to the team with some stupendous match-winning efforts against RCB in the Eliminator. SRH would hope youngsters like Priyam Garg and Abdul Samad can stand up if needed.

Sandeep Sharma has excelled for SRH in the role of lead pacer taking over the mantle in place of the injured Bhuvneshwar Kumar. T. Natarajan is turning out to be the yorker king of IPL 2020, and even a legend like AB de Villiers couldn’t survive against him. Leg spinner Rashid Khan continues to deliver game after game while left-arm spinner Shahbaz Nadeem has chipped in with some crucial contributions as well.

Head-to-Head Record: SRH have a 11-6 win-loss record over DC from 17 games. Hyderabad beat Delhi in both IPL 2020 league matches.

SRH Predicted XI: David Warner, Shreevats Goswami/ Wriddhiman Saha, Manish Pandey, Kane Williamson, Priyam Garg, Jason Holder, Abdul Samad, Rashid Khan, Shabaz Nadeem, T Natarajan, Sandeep Sharma

DC Predicted XI: Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Marcus Stoinis, Shimron Hetmyer, Axar Patel, Harshal Patel, R Ashwin, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje

Pitch Report

The pitch at Abu Dhabi in the Eliminator between SRH and RCB was tough for batting. With dew around, chasing could be the preferred option. Considering the conditions, 170 should be a defendable total.

Weather conditions

The temperature has cooled down and should be in the high 20s for most part of the match.
