Final Session Update
Pakistan eased to a 7-wicket win in the Mirpur Test chasing down the target of 103 in just 20.5 overs amidst fading light conditions. Shakib Al Hasan who scored a century along with capturing seven wickets in all got the Man of the Match award despite his team going down with a defeat. Younis Khan who scored a double century in the first Test got the Man of the Series award.
There was nothing alarming in the final session as Mohammad Hafeez and Azhar Ali made no fuss and went onto chip at the target as early as possible. The duo lost their wickets in the process of speeding up things but did enough to secure a win for Pakistan. First to go was Mohammad Hafeez (47 from 52 balls with 5 fours) whose ambitious slog sweep off Shakib was caught at wide long on. Azhar Ali (34 from 43 balls with 3 fours) lost his wicket with just two runs to win when he charged down the track to Elias Sunny and got himself stumped out after getting deceived in the air.

Fittingly it was the Pakistani Captain - Misbah-ul-Haq who wrapped up the match with a big straight down the ground.

Tea Break Update

Pakistan chasing a paltry target of 103 are cruising along at 37 for 1 in 11 overs at the time of Tea on the final day. The only casualty in the run chase has been TaufeeqUmar who played a casual flick off NazmulHossain which was caught at mid wicket. Mohammad Hafeez, the other opener is keen in getting the runs quickly, and so far has picked up 24* from 35 balls. AzharALi who is with him at the crease is havinh similar intentions and is on 10*. The visitors need just another 66 runs to win with one full session left in the match.

Afternoon Session Update
Bangladesh have been bowled out for 234 in their second innings leaving Pakistan with an easy target of 103 to get in a little over a session. Left arm spinner AbdurRehman broke through the Bangladeshi resistance with a four-wicket haul while SaeedAjmal chipped in with a couple of wickets.
The much needed breakthrough early in the post lunch session for Pakistan came in the 70th over when AbdurRehman bowled a perfect arm ball which drew NasirHossain in a forward defence and skidded through the bat pad gate with bounce to hit the middle stump. Hossain scored a career best of 79 which came in 172 balls with 11 fours. It was the end of a 117-run partnership for the 6th wicket. Skipper MushfiqurRahim followed Hossain back in the pavilion after charging down the track for a lofted shot but only to miscue Rehman into the hands of mid off. The Bangladeshi Captain made 53 from 147 balls with 7 fours.
The next wicket for Pakistan came through a blinder of a catch taken at slip by Younis Khan who flew to his right to take an outside edge that was traveling in an attempted slog against the turn from ShahadatHossain. AbdurRehman was the wicket taker this time as well. SaeedAjmal with a couple of doosra took the remaining wickets. First he set up the left-handed Elias Sunny into an expansive cover drive and then deceived him with the doosra which turned in and went through the bat pad gate to hit the off stump. The final wicket fell when no.11 Robiul Islam charged down the track for a bling slog but only to be beaten by a widishdoosra which left him stranded out of the crease by a mile.
The Bangladeshis lasted 82.1 overs in their second innings scoring 234 and leaving Pakistan an easy target of 103.
Lunch Break Update
A fighting partnership between NasirHossain and Skipper MushfiqurRahim is raising the hopes for a draw for Bangladesh. The overnight pair batted for two hours to see through the morning session and in the process taking Bangladesh to a healthy score of 200 for 5 in 64 overs. The hosts are not yet out of the jail with a lead of 68 runs and still two full sessions to go in the Test match. Ideally Bangladeshi would like to stretch the lead to 150 if not 200 to feel secured about the match.
Bangladesh had started the day's play with a deficit of 18 runs and Pakistan was expected to wrap up things. But the pitch offered nothing to the Pakistani bowlers and the Bangladeshi pair batted sensibly. The duo of NasirHossain and MushfiqurRahim have added 105 runs for the unbroken 6th wicket partnership. NasirHossain is on 76 from 155 balls with 11 fours and should he bat sensibly, there is every possibility of converting his maiden Test fifty into a maiden Test century! His partner - Skipper MushfiqurRahim is on 40 from 101 balls with 6 fours.
The Tigers have collected 86 runs this morning in 29 overs without losing a single wicket!
Morning Session Update
The fifth and final day's play of the Mirpur Test is expected to have a delayed start at 10:30 AM local. This means that play will start one hour late. The morning session will be of a couple of hours with lunch scheduled at 12:30 local. As expected the reason for the delayed start is fog and mist which affected the first three days of this Test match. Yesterday was unique as play started on time on what was the fourth day of the match.
Bangladesh are staring at an inevitable defeat having lost the cream of its batting line-up yesterday evening. They are still trailing behind by 18 runs to avoid an innings defeat. NasirHossain along with Skipper MushfiqurRahim is going to bat for Bangladeshi when play starts on the final day.
